Seeds of hope: Community forest restoration in Colombia

Hear the story of local conservationist, Victoria Larraniaga, and her work with landowners and children to restore forest to degraded farming areas of southern Colombia

Raised in the countryside of Colombia, Victoria Larraniaga is passionate about the environment and conservation. She is a restoration and conservation consultant working with WCS.

Watch our new video and hear Victoria talk about her work with local landowners, bringing back sustainable farming techniques and dedicating areas of land to restoration to improve soil health and provide habitat for vital biodiversity including Oso Andino - the Andean bear (Tremarctos ornatus). Learn about an education programme Victoria runs with local children, teaching them about the importance of conservation and restoration for themselves and future generations; and find out how the power of football can help restore forests.

The project is implemented by WCS, with support from Football for Forests and Trillion Trees.
