The Trillion Trees ReForest Fund continues to support forest restoration and conservation efforts around the world, helping local communities restore degraded landscapes, strengthen biodiversity, and build resilience to climate change.
During this reporting period, ReForest Fund-supported projects worked across multiple countries to restore forests, improve wildlife habitat, strengthen local livelihoods, and support community-led stewardship of natural resources. Overall, the ReForest Fund has contributed to the restoration of 1,719 hectares, supported the planting and regeneration of over 903,000 trees, and benefitted more than 26,700 people.
By investing in locally led restoration initiatives, the ReForest Fund helps create lasting environmental and social benefits while supporting the long-term recovery of forests that are critical for nature, climate stability, and community wellbeing. So far we have supported 29 projects across 21 landscapes.
- Indonesia: Across Bukit Barisan Selatan and Way Kambas National Parks, restoration efforts are reconnecting habitat for Sumatran tigers and elephants while engaging more than 350 community members in long-term forest conservation.
- Tanzania: More than 108,000 trees were planted across the Ruvuma and West Usambara landscapes, supporting watershed health, forest connectivity, and community stewardship.
- Laos: Communities in Nam Et Phou Louey National Park are safeguarding naturally regenerating forests helping wildlife and people thrive together.
- Guatemala: In the Maya Biosphere Reserve forest protection and restoration involves fire management, invasive species removal, native tree nurseries, and ecological monitoring preparing forests for recovery.
- Across all projects, continued maintenance, monitoring, and site preparation are helping ensure the success of restoration efforts by supporting seedling survival and building local knowledge and capacity for long-term forest recovery.
