WWF identified 24 'deforestation fronts' - areas where there is the greatest threat to forests.
Now the bad news – this interactive map shows the worst ‘deforestation fronts’ around the world, and the main causes. An area of forest totalling 43 million hectares – almost double the size of the UK – was wiped out by deforestation in key global hotspots in just 13 years.
