Trillion Trees and partners: driving high quality Forest Landscape Restoration at COP28

The protection and restoration of forests is one of the most effective nature-based solutions for addressing the climate crisis.

Of all the options available to us right now, the maintenance of the remaining intact forests is the most important first step, with afforestation and reforestation offering the next greatest potential for land-based CO2 removals.

High quality forest restoration not only benefits people through safeguarding crucial ecosystem services, but also reduces extinction risks, restores biodiversity and increases ecosystem resilience.

At COP28 in Dubai, Trillion Trees will be working alongside partners in the forest conservation and restoration community to amplify the message that forests play a crucial role in meeting the goals of the Paris agreement and safeguarding the planet for future generations.

Engaging consumers: The challenge of getting to scale

Football4Forests Launch

Saturday 09 Dec 11.00 am

Colombia Pavilion (Blue zone)

Join the launch of the Football4Forests (F4F) collaboration, a new initiative to mobilise the football community in support of forest restoration.

There are 5 billion football supporters in the world, and Football4Forests provides a mechanism through which supporters, clubs and their sponsors can take action to restore the world's forests.

Football4Forests is already delivering restoration on the ground. Pilot projects are underway in Colombia with co-funding support from GIZ.

At this event, hosted by the Colombian Ministry for the Environment, in the Colombia Pavilion, we will show how football fans and wider football community can get involved, demonstrate the F4F app, and explain how, working with the Trillion Trees partners, this support will be delivered to forest restoration projects around the world.

Please join us at the Colombia Pavilion, Blue Zone at 11am on Sat 9th December!
