Trillion Trees welcomes Forests and Climate Leaders' Partnership

Pledges must now turn into urgent action

Trillion Trees welcomes the recent announcement by the UK COP26 Presidency, inviting the world's leaders to come together at COP27 to establish a new Partnership to accelerate implementation of the commitment made at COP26 by over 140 countries to halt and reverse forest loss and land degradation.

These pledges must now turn into urgent action.

John Lotspeich, Executive Director of Trillion Trees said:

"Trillion Trees is delighted that the Forests & Climate Leaders’ Partnership has come together, and we urge them to turn their pledges from COP26 into real action that has significant impact for people, nature and the climate.

We look forward to seeing the Partnership's outcomes at COP27 and hope that further investment into high quality forest conservation and restoration is made to make sure that we can rapidly scale up solutions. The pledges made one year ago must be kept, if we are to have any hope of meeting the world's climate goals."
